Prediction Tool

The Prediction Tool is used to forecast the possible outcomes of your experiment. You might, for example, want to predict how the temperature of a cup of hot water will change with time. Predictions can be made by drawing freehand or by specifying a function. Predictions can be modified as required.
Creating a Prediction
Click the Prediction Tool and select New Prediction from the drop down menu.
Give your prediction a name.
Select the Sensor for the prediction.
Select the Prediction Type: (Pencil) or (Function).
If Function is selected, enter the relevant parameters.
Click Apply to see a preview of the prediction on the graph.
Click OK to close the dialogue box.
Pencil Prediction
To make a Pencil Prediction, drag the pencil cursor across the screen to draw. Alternatively, make a series of left clicks: the prediction will snap to the clicks.

Function Prediction
To make a Function Prediction, choose the appropriate function type from the menu and enter the relevant parameters.

Editing an existing Prediction
Select Edit Prediction from the Prediction Tool menu and click on the prediction to edit it.

A Pencil Prediction can be edited by dragging the prediction. Clicking on the graph makes the prediction snap to the cursor.

A Function Prediction can be edited by changing the parameter values in the Function Prediction panel.
